General preferences

Most preferences for this SuiteApp are set per bankaccount, but there are a few account-wide features that can be enabled on the General Preferences page in the Setup menu.

At Setup > Company > General Preferences > Custom Preferences > Fast Four Bank Reconciliation, administrators can set the following preferences.

Use Alternative Matching Types is a feature that enables users to match a single line on the bank statement with a NetSuite Electronic Payments batch.

Allow posting to other bank accounts allows users to select an account of type Bank on the bank statement line. Use the with caution: posting from one bank statement to a different bank account will make it difficult to reconcile the other bank account using Fast Four Bank Reconciliation. This feature is only recommended when Fast Four Bank Reconciliation is not being used to reconcile the other bank account.

Use custom matching rules allows users to setup custom matching rules to automatically match bank statement lines during import. See help section Import a Bank Statement > Custom Matching Rules.

Use Additional Fields adds functionality to take values from the bank statement and record them on the payment transaction. See help section Installation & Setup > Setup Bank Account Configurations and Setup Additional Fields.

Use Payment Difference Handling allows users to directly post payment differences from the bank statement.

Payment in transit account. Some NetSuite users create payment records to a payment in transit account. Selecting that account here will make the payments on this account show up in the Closed Transactions option in the popup on the bank statement.
Example: a NetSuite electronic payment EFT batch is created against a payment in transit account (no real bank account). When entering the bank statement with the EFT payments users will select the vendor/employee and wait for the popup to open. User will then select 'Show closed transactions'. The payments on the payment in transit account will now show and may be attached to the bank statement.

Auto-matched closed - days offset prior and after. Days offset prior and after is a setting for matching with closed transactions. When auto-matching with closed transactions, the tool searches in a date range around the bank transaction date for exact and unique matches on amount. Here you can define that date range: how many days prior and after the bank transaction date should be included. Setting this date range larger means more NetSuite transactions are evaluated for a possible match, but there is less chance on a unique match. Setting the right number of days can be achieved by tweaking these settings during the first months of usage. In general, it will depend on how many transactions are in the system with the same amount. If you have many transactions with the same amount, set the date range smaller. If not so many transactions with the same amount, set this date range larger. If you are unsure what to do, set the number of days to 15 days prior and 0 days after.

DON'T FREEZE HEADER ROW IN BANK STATEMENT (NOT BFN COMPLIANT). When enabled the header row of the statement lines won't freeze to the top of the screen.
